“The carriage house is fun, unique, and charming.”

“Your place is our favorite getaway spot. We particularly enjoyed the full moon rising behind the carriage house in the evenings and setting in front in the mornings.”
Jan and Chris Stanley
The Carriage House—once part of a 220-year-old chestnut bank barn and dance hall from a nearby farm—is reminiscent of a cozy cottage at the end of a winding lane. It is about 500 feet from the main house and is on one level and now features a full kitchen, making it the preferred lodging for guests with limited mobility, who have young children or who desire an extended stay.
A makeover of the carriage house now features two rooms—a bedroom with weathered pine floors, walk-in closet and view of the upper horse pasture and a 450-square-foot living area that includes a full-size kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, granite countertops and copper sink.
A comfortable sofa converts into a double-size bed for a third person, while a gas fireplace provides wonderful ambiance on chilly days. The bathroom boasts a whirlpool-style air tub and shower, vessel-style sink and heated tile floor. A hot breakfast typically is served in a private room at the main house. Guests also may choose an expanded continental breakfast served in the suite.
