“The carriage house is fun, unique, and charming.”

“Your place is our favorite getaway spot. We particularly enjoyed the full moon rising behind the carriage house in the evenings and setting in front in the mornings.”
Jan and Chris Stanley
The Carriage House—once part of a 220-year-old chestnut bank barn and dance hall from a nearby farm—is reminiscent of a cozy cottage at the end of a winding lane. It is about 500 feet from the main house and is on one level. An airy room painted in deep colors of gold and cranberry, it features a sitting area under a vaulted ceiling and skylight, a queen-size pencil-post bed under a lower ceiling of pressed wallpaper and a slate-covered foyer with a 18th-century cherry blanket chest. The bathroom boasts a whirlpool-style air tub, vessel-style sink and heated tile floor. A gas fireplace provides a wonderful ambiance on chilly days.
Because the carriage house is on one level, it is ideal for guests with limited mobility and/or guests with infants and toddlers. A hot breakfast typically is served in a private room at the main house. Guests also may choose an expanded continental breakfast served in the suite.
